Verb (வினைச்சொல்)
A verb is a word used to tell or asse something about some person or thing.
(ஒரு நபர் அல்லது ஒரு பொருளைப் பற்றி ஏதாவது உறுதியாகச் சொல்லும் வார்த்தை Verb எனப்படும்.)
Examples: Write, sing, еat, go, play.
பல சமயங்களில் Verb, ஒன்றுக்கு மேற்பட்ட வார்த்தைகலை பெற்றிருக்கும்.

Verb
(1) செயப்படுப்பொருள் குன்றாவினை (Transive Verb)
(2) செயப்படுப் பொருள் குன்றிய வினை (Intransitive Verb)
என இருவகைப்படும்.
1) Transitive verb (செயப்படுப் பொருள் குன்றாவினை)
A Transitive verb is a verb that denotes an action which passes from the doer or subject to an object.
(இவை செயப்படும் பொருளை பெற்றுவரும்)
Examples:
i) The boy kicks the football
ii) She draws a picture
2) Intransitive verb (செயப்படுப்பொருள் குன்றிய வினை)
An intransitive verb is a verb that denotes an action which does not pass over to an object or which expresses a state or being.
(இவைகளில் செயப்படும் பொருள் இல்லை)
Examples:
i) He ran a long distance (Action)
ii) The baby sleeps (state)
iii) There is a flaw in this diamond (Being)
