Future Tense - எதிர்காலம்
A) Simple future (சாதாரண எதிர்காலம்)
எதிர்காலத்தில் நடைபெறும் செயலைக் குறிப்பிட Simple future பயன்படுகிறது.
E.g.:1) I shall buy a new pen next week.
ii) Some birds will fly away in the winter.
இதில் I, we போன்ற பிரதிப் பெயர்ச் சொற்களுக்கு Shall உம், மற்ற பெயர்ச் சொற்கள் அல்லது பிரதிப்
பெயர்ச் சொற்களுக்கு
(He, she, it, you, they etc) will உம் எதிர்காலத்திற்கு எழுதுக.
Formula: shall
will + verb
Keywords: tomorrow, next week, tonight, shortly, in a few minutes, soon, future years.
Exercise:
1. We --------- (celebrate) our silver jubilee year in 2005.
2. She ----- (meet) you tomorrow.
3. Our headmaster ------- (hoist) the flag at tomorrow's function.
4. The next bus to the hills --- (arrive) in a few minutes
5. I ---- (go) to attend my sister's marriage.
(B) Future continuous - எதிர்காலத்தொடர்
எதிர்காலத்தில் தொடர்ந்து நடைபெற்றுக் கொண்டிருக்கும் செயலைக் குறிப்பிட future continuous
பயன்படும்.
E.g.: i) By this time tomorrow, we shall be traveling to Delhi by train.
ii) He will be studying in IX std next year.
Formula: will
Shall + be + verb + ing
Keywords: By this time ....... by ......, at this time.
Exercise:
1. By 1 pm tomorrow I ----- (watch) the T.V.
2. By this time tomorrow, we -------- (visit) Ooty.
3. At this time next month, they -------- (play) cricket matches.
C) Future perfect – எதிர்கால முற்று
எதிர்காலத்தில் நடந்து முடியும் என்று எதிர்பார்க்கப்படும் செயலைக் குறிப்பிட Future Perfect பயன்படும்
E.g.: i) I shall have reached Delhi by this time tomorrow.
ii) You will have finished your work before the bell.
Formula: shall
Will + be + verb + ing
Keywords: By the end of this week, next month, at (by) this time.
Exercise
1. By June next year, you ---------- (pass) X std.
2. At this time next month, you ------ (revise) all your lessons.
3. I -------- (write) my exercise by that time.
D) Future perfect continuous - எதிர்கால முற்றுத் தொடர்
ஒரு செயல் எதிர்காலத்தில் தொடர்ந்து நடைபெற்று கொண்டிருப்பது
It denotes a future action whether finished or unfinished at a point of future time.
E.g.: i) You will have been learning Hindi for two years by the end of this year.
ii) Hema will have been living in Kerala for 5 years by the end of this month.
formula: shall
will + have been + verb + ing.
