Sentence Pattern - வாக்கிய அமைப்பு

A sentence comprises smaller units called elements of sentence structure. They are subject (S), verb (V),
complement (C), object (0) and adjunct (A).
ஒரு வாக்கியத்தின் சிறிய அலகுகள் வாக்கிய அமைப்பின் ஆதாரமாகும். அவை எழுவாய்
(subject) வினைச்சொல் (verb) நிரப்பி (complement), object, adjunct போன்றவைகளாகும்.

1. Subject (எழுவாய்)

Subject is a word or a phrase in a sentence about which something is said it denotes the doer of the
action.

எழுவாய் என்பது ஒரு வாக்கியத்தில் சொல்லப்படுகின்ற ஒரு சொல் அல்லது ஒரு
சொற்றொடராகும். இது செயல் செய்பவரைக் குறிக்கிறது.

எ.கா My father is busy in the office.

என்னுடைய அப்பா அலுவலகத்தில் சுறுசுறுப்பாக உள்ளார்.
ஒரு வாக்கியத்தில் subject ஐ கண்டுபிடிக்க எது? (which) யார்? (Who) என்ற வினாவை
எழுப்ப, விடையாகக் கிடைப்பது Subject ஆகும்.

2. Verb - வினைச்சொல்

A verb is a word or a phrase expressing existence, action or occurence. It denotes the action of a
sentence.

Eg: She is reading.
A verb என்பது செயல், நிலை, அமைவு போன்றவற்றை விளக்கும் ஒரு சொல் அல்லது
ஒரு சொற்றொடராகும். இது ஒரு வாக்கியத்தின் செயலைக் குறிப்பிடுகிறது.
எ.கா அவள் படித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறாள்.

3. Object

Object is word or phrase in a sentence towards which the action of the verbal element is directed.
Eg: The richman gave away all his wealth.

In some sentences, there would be two objects. The answer for the question what? is the direct object
(DO) and whom is the indirect object (IDO).

Object என்பது ஒரு வாக்கியத்தில் வினைச் சொல் பகுதியின் விளைவை குறிக்கும் ஒரு
சொல் அல்லது ஒரு சொற்றொடராகும். Object இருவகைகளாகப் பிரிக்கலாம்.

அவை 1)What? என்ற வினாவினை எழுப்ப, விடையாக வருவது direct object (DO) ஆகும்.

 ii) Whom?என்ற வினாவினை எழுப்ப, விதைபாக வருவது indirect object (IDO) ஆகும்.

4. Complement.

Complement is a word or a phrase used after a be verb (am, is, are, was, were) or after the word
become to make the sense complete.

Complement என்பது be வடிவ வினைச்சொல்லிற்கு (am, is, are, was, were) பின்பு
வினைச்சொல் (அ) வார்த்தைக்கு முழுப்பொருளையும் கொடுக்க வரும் ஒரு சொல்
அல்லது ஒரு சொற்றொடராகும்.

5 Adjunct

Adjunct is the optional element in a sentence. It answers the questions How? Where? when? and Why?.
Adjunct என்பது ஒரு வாக்கியத்தில் விருப்பப்பட்ட பகுதியாகும். இவை How?, Where?,
Whom? மற்றும் Why? போன்ற வினாப்பதங்களுக்கு விடையளிப்பவையாகும்.
