Direct & Indirect Speech (நேர்க்கூற்றும், அயற்கூற்றும்)

(Direct speech)
ii) அயற்கூற்று (Indirect speech)

i) Direct Speech (நேர்க்கூற்று)

When we quote the actual words of a speaker, is called direct speech.

எ. The boy said to me, "My father is a doctor".
The boy said to me Reporting sentence
"My father is a doctor" என்பது மேற்கோள் குறிகள் உள்ள பகுதி, இவற்றை Reported sentence அல்லது
Quotated sentence

ii) Indirect Speech (அயற்கூற்று)

When we report the substance of what one said without quoting his exact words, it is called indirect
speech. It has no quotation marks.
